Bumpshack.com is reporting that Los Angeles Lakers wannabe bad-boy Matt Barnes was arrested for domestic violence against his girlfriend on Wednesday in Sacramento, California. The charge is a felony domestic violence charge.

The authorities determine Barnes was the primary aggressor and he was promptly arrested and booked for suspicion of domestic violence and maliciously obstructing the use of a telephone line. Barnes was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday (September 13).

Sadly, this comes as no surprise, given the reputation of Barnes, both on and off the court.  Hopefully he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if the charges against him are in fact true.

Barnes idiotically told a TV reporter that he was the victim and tweeted, “DON’T LET YOUR EARS WITNESS, WHAT YOUR EYES DIDN’T SEE!!!”

On a positive note, it looks like Barnes has mastered the mugshot at this point.

LeBron James in the recent (Sep 2010) issue of GQ opened up somewhat about a return to play for Cleveland, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, and the happiness in his face since bolting the Cavs for the Miami Heat.

The article by J.R. Moehringer didn’t reveal anything earth shattering but here is what King James had to say:

LeBron James on how those close to him view his decision: “They’re happy to see me happy. That’s what they can see in my face. They say: ‘It’s been a while since we’ve seen you look like that.’ ”

…on Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert: “I don’t think he ever cared about LeBron. My mother always told me: ‘You will see the light of people when they hit adversity. You’ll get a good sense of their character.’ Me and my family have seen the character of that man.”

…on imagining himself playing for the Cavaliers again one day: “If there was an opportunity for me to return and those fans welcome me back, that’d be a great story.… Maybe the ones burning my jersey were never LeBron fans anyway.”

…on how growing up helped him learn about facing adversity and staying humble: “That’s what keeps me humble, because I know my background, know what my mother went through. I never get too high on my stardom or what I can do. My mom always says, and my friends say, ‘You’re just a very low-maintenance guy.’”

At 5:05 a.m. Sunday morning Coney Island police responded to an assault charge at 621 Avenue Z. Upon the arrival of police, they discovered Stephenson’s girlfriend, Jasmine Williams, who stated that her boyfriend, the 19-year-old Stephenson, pushed her down a flight of stairs, striking her head against the wall. She was transported to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition.

Stephenson, a talented baller, played just one year at the University of Cincinnati after several brushups with the law as a high schooler.  Less than 2 years ago he was charged with sexually groping a 17-year old outside his high school

This should come as great news to Pacers executive Larry Bird who has spent most of the past several years attempting to cleanup the team of trouble makers.

Barton hinted at bad news Wednesday night via his Twitter account.

“It don’t get no worse than this,” Barton Tweeted. “The hardest thing I ever had 2 face is here. Need vision cuz everything blurry now. Where do I go from here?”

By all accounts Will is a great kid.  Most experts considered him a one-and-done college player. Hopefully, he can stay in great shape by playing overseas or in the NBADL.

WREG-TV 3 is reporting that the attorney for Lorenzen Wright’s ex-wife Sherra Robinson Wright is saying that his client has not talked to the police and won’t be talking to them in the future.

She had told police originally that Lorenzen had left her house around 2am the morning he was murdered. His 911 call, where gunshots could be heard, came before that time.

Police spent several hours Sunday searching Sherra’s Collierville home, including an unusually long amount of time looking at her bar-b-q pit in back.

Most of the rumors and focus of the police’s investigation is starting to point towards Sherra. Her attorney, Coleman Garrett, when asked if Robinson Wright killed Lorenzen, unequivocally responded “Absolutely not!”

I think it’s interesting if you look at Garrett’s eyes in the video (watch above) when he is answering the question about if Sherra killed Lorenzen. His eyes seem to tell a different story than his lips are telling.

It appears that Bill Simmons’ worst nightmare is just hours away from becoming true.  Multiple outlets are reporting that the Boston Celtics are close to signing Shaquille O’Neal to a 1-year $1.35 million contract.

O’Neal has told associates for several weeks that he thought he could help the Celtics, who will be without starting center Kendrick Perkins for most of, if not all, of next season after tearing his MCL and PCL in Game 6 of the Finals last June against the Lakers. Perkins underwent surgery two weeks ago, and while he hopes to play next season, the Celtics aren’t optimistic that he’ll be able to contribute much. In the interim, veteran center Jermaine O’Neal–signed to a two-year deal earlier this summer–will start at center for Boston.

O’Neal played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last year for $2o million. He has made nearly $300 million in NBA salaries during his long career.

Shaq has left every team in his career in a messy way from his departure from the Orlando Magic to join the Lakers, his beef with Kobe and the Lakers, to Miami trading him, to ripping the Suns franchise apart, to whatever the heck happened in Cleveland.

It’s safe to say this won’t end well in Bean Town.

The death of Memphis basketball legend Lorenzen Wright rocked the Memphis community when his body was found last week in a wooded field riddled with a dozen gunshot wounds.

Since that time, theories galore have floated around as to who murdered Lorenzen and for the reason why he died so horrifically.

Many theories being tossed around are silly and unreasaonble. Others actually make a good bit of sense.

No one can say for sure who killed Lorenzen, but a Sportscasm reader submitted a comment with his opinion on who killed Wright and why (Read Below).

First of all, I live in Memphis and know some of his close family members. Sherra his ex-wife, her brother, and botfriend had something to do with his murder. Lorenzen divorced her b/c she got hooked on drugs (crack). Her boyfriend and Lorenzen had an altercation b/c the boyfriend damaged his vehicle and Lorenzen kicked his a*s. Lorenzen had planed to remove his kids out of her home and relocate them to Atlanta…All of this non-sense lead to his death. As for his girlfriend I was told that she was here in Memphis when he came up missing so….if she didn’t mean anything to him he wouldn’t have brought her home to meet his family. For those of you that don’t know him, his family, or even his girlfriend (Alexis)….SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!! I don’t know his grilfriend but I do know him and his family members. A man doesn’t bring a “groupie” home to meet his family.

Lorenzen’s ex-wife Sherra Robinson Wright told her attorney (not the cops) that three armed men arrived at her house several weeks ago looking for Ren.  Many in Memphis believe that statement might have been a cover since it was never reported to the police but instead to her attorney (per her attorney).

The majority of rumors circulating around Memphis include Ren’s ex-wife.  We can only hope they aren’t true for the sake of the six children she had with Lorenzen.

The word out late tonight is that Sherra is already in police custody. Police spent several hours at her home today looking for evidence and inspecting a bar-b-q grill for a long time. Neighbors reported seeing flames come from the grill on the day he was killed, an unusually hot day in Memphis to be using a grill.

It sounds plausible, but until the police release more information, this is just one of the dozens of theories floating around Memphis.

What are your thoughts? Who did it? Why did they do it?  Will they ever find out what really happened?

Sacramento Kings star Tyreke Evans was arrested on May 31, 2010 by the CHP for speeding and racing another car at 120 MPH+.  When this first hit the news back in early June, the reports made it sound like your normal speeding violation and ticket.

As you can see by the video this was in fact one of the scarier speedings, runaway cars you often see on California freeways that often end violently or with innocent people getting hurt.

Luckily here, Tyreke was just racing another car and was compliant once he was pulled over.

Evans was given ‘informal’ probation for reckless driving.

The speed-chase video (seen above) was released late last week by the CHP.

The answer is NO!  But Lorenzen Wright did question Chris Bosh’s sexuality in a Tweet he posted on July 14th, just 5 days before he was murdered in Memphis when he simply asked ‘Is Chris Bosh gay?!’

So Wright tweets about Bosh’s sexuality and five days later he is dead?

Reasons Why Bosh Might Have Killed Wright:

• Wright questioned his sexuality by asking his Twitter followers if Bosh was gay (a legit question by the way, but one which could weaken the already weak opinions on Bosh, as he attempted to claim his position as the 5th most important basketball person in the Miami community behind Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Pat Riley, and Mike Miller (HA!).
• Plenty of money to do or hire as many of the Miami Mafia as he pleases to do the job for him.
• Plenty of free time after wasting most of the Summer listening to NBA teams make pitches to him while pretending he was interested (and not already pre-packaged to Miami).

Although the odds of Bosh, of all people, doing anything that aggressive are about nil (I joke above), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t clues on Wright’s Twitter account (@MisterWright42) about his tragic death.

After researching all 375 tweets made on the account since April 5th I found some disturbing info, tidbits, and perhaps clues, that hopefully the Memphis, Collierville, and Germantown police are at least looking into.  But they are the same people that flubbed up Wright’s 911 call and didn’t connect that a hang-up call from his cell phone on July 19th with gunshots in the background and his disappearance for nearly a week might be related and a sign of foul play.

Wright tweeted back and forth with Trevino Vassar @bigvino92 on May 31, 2010, in retrospect what is a disturbing exchange of tweets:

WRIGHT: “f*ck you bish”

VASSAR: “F*ck u boy I gt that heat for ur ass @MisterWright42”

WRIGHT: “fuck wit me bighead and see what happen!”

VASSAR: “U no were I stay boy cme on down and gt toe tag @MisterWright42”

WRIGHT: “keep yo eyes open nigga don’t go to sleep hoe cause I’m under yo bed bish!”

VASSAR: U to long bish to gt under there its on I no wat u did last summer @MisterWright42“

Wright then tweeted to his Twitter followers: ‘Black Mask Ren’ later that night at 9:27 pm CST.

Armed men showed up at the house of Wright’s ex-wife Sherra Robinson Wright weeks before his death, looking for him.

This exchange between the two could be innocent, two friends (cousins?) ribbing each other back and forth, but Vassar should be questioned about the messages by the police.  Vasser made only 18 tweets since May 31st and nearly half of them were aimed at Wright.  He likely had nothing at all to do with Wright’s death, but he should be questioned.  He should be asked especially about what he tweeted about knowing what Lorenzen did last summer (friends/cousins often know the good, bad, and ugly on all of us), along with the threats the two tweeted towards each other.

This case will be solved. Someone will get loose lips and tell someone something or brag to a buddy or gang member about their hideous act.

To be fair, if Bosh and Vasser are questioned, then Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick should be as well.

Wright tweeted on July 11th: “Watching sponge Bob and is wondering is Patrick and sponge bob Gay? I’m just sayin”

Beloved Memphian Lorenzen Wright, a veteran of 14 NBA seasons, was found dead yesterday in a field just outside of Memphis.  Wright had been missing since July 19th.

Wright was dating the beautiful Alexis Bradley at the time of his death.  He had been going back and forth between Memphis, where his children lived, and Atlanta.

Wright was recently divorced from Sherra Robinson Wright and was the father of six children.

He was found with a dozen gunshot wounds to his corpse.  A 911 call was made from his phone on July 19th where gunshots could be heard, along with an expletive, before it hung up.

The photos here were posted on Bradley’s Facebook account yesterday and dated July 18th, 2010 – the day before Wright disappeared and was murdered.

Bradley captioned the photos in a way that left no doubt the two were a couple, had been dating for some time, and loved each other:

“I LOVE THIS GUY,” “SEXY IN RED,” “I’M ALWAYS HAPPY WHEN YOU’RE AROUND,” “LOVE, THANX TO HIM MY SHORT BUS BUTT GOT MY TONGUE PIERCED,” “HIS FAVORITE PIC!!! BOOBIES”

Memphis police have not released names of any suspects as of just yet.  All sorts of conspiracy theories are floating around Memphis along with theories of who might have killed Lorenzen.
