Patriots QB Tom Brady Injured in Car Wreck

New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a “serious” car wreck early Thursday morning in Boston.

Some reports have stated that Brady was injured in some way, but that he insisted to go to Patriots headquarters and be treated by their doctors. If injured, he doesn’t appear to be seriously injured.

Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told ESPNBoston.com that a traffic light was struck and knocked over at the scene. According to MacDonald, the driver of the sedan was out of the vehicle and walking after the accident. All indications were that Brady was driving the sedan, though MacDonald would not confirm the identities of anyone in the accident.

Reportedly the other car, a van, ran a redlight and was t-boned by Brady who had the green light. Passengers in that car were in far more series condition than Brady and had to be removed from the van and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Charlie Davies Severely Injured in Car Accident

Charlie Davies of the USA national soccer team was seriously injured in a car crash early Tuesday in the Washington, D.C. area. Davies, a forward on the team, was taken by helicopter from the scene to a local hospital where he was treated for extensive injuries.

Sgt. David Schlosser, spokesman for U.S. Park Police, told the Insider this morning that the accident investigation will take at least one to two weeks. “It’s a complicated crash reconstruction,” he said. “We won’t have any answers right away.”

Hospital officials have stated that Davies has a lacerated bladder, fractured right leg,face and left elbow.

Team USA played Coasta Rica to a 2-2 tie tonight at RFK Stadium in D.C. on Wednesday night. Fans help up “9″ (his uniform number) signs throughout the match.

Davies is not expected to heal fast enough to play in the next years World Cup.
