So much for the expected announcement that Matt Painter was taking the Missouri job. Against recent expectations, coach Painter has decided to stay at Purdue…probably because when they got wind he was looking around, Purdue officials started begging and – presumably – offering Painter a little financial incentive to stay.

It looks like MU fans will have something to celebrate today. Purdue’s Matt Painter is expected to accept Mizzou Athletic Director Mike Alden’s offer to become the next head coach of the Tigers. According to Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
