It’s that time again. Time to say goodbye to the Madness by looking back on how we got to the NCAA National Championship Game, and celebrating all the highs and lows Luther Vandross style.

So here it is, in all its splendor and glory: “One Shining Moment” 2011. I especially enjoy the healthy dose [...]

When two big dogs collide in the NCAA National Championship Game, like the Butler Bulldogs and Connecticut Huskies did on Monday night, you should have known it would be some intense, ugly, junkyard dog basketball, and it was exactly that in the first half.
The UConn Huskies won the game 53-41 to become the 2011 NCAA [...]

The Kentucky Wildcats couldn’t hit a shot from the field, three, or the free throw line on Saturday night against the Connecticut Huskies, but they still had a chance to win the game with 18 seconds to go.
UK coach John Calipari called a time-out to set up a play. Either it was a horrible play [...]

This time around, it wasn’t all about UConn’s Kemba Walker…but he was certainly a big factor.  The Huskies started off slow, being outscored 11-2 early in the contest.  From then on, though, they took control.
Along with Walker’s 20 points, freshman Jeremy Lamb put up 19 and had 4 assists as UConn survived a powerful inside [...]

I’m not just saying this because I’ve got UConn in my Final Four, but don’t bet against Kemba Walker.  That kid is on fire, and so is are the Huskies, winners of their last eight games.  After a slow start, they proved it again, beating the San Diego St. Aztecs 74-67 in Sweet 16 play.
Kemba [...]

Kemba Walker continues to scorch college basketball with his prolific play.  Walker led his Connecticut Huskies to an easy 69-58 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday.
Kemba was just 8-20 from the field (3-9 from three) but was perfect from the free throw line hitting all 14 he attempted. Kemba has averaged over 23 [...]

No. 19 UConn, again, pulled off the upset by narrowly beating No. 14 Louisville 69-66 and claiming the Big East crown.  Tournament MVP, Kemba Walker, had 19 points.  However, his impact on the rest of the tournament was much more profound.  NBC Sports reports:
Walker, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, took home the most obvious MVP [...]

On a last second, amazing shot, Kemba Walker and #21 UConn knock off #3 Pitt in the Big East Tournament.  ABC reports:
Kemba Walker hit the winning basket on a classic stepback jumper at the buzzer, and No. 21 Connecticut stunned third-ranked Pittsburgh 76-74 in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament on Thursday.
Walker [...]

While No. 13 UConn lagged Friday night, the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals surged.  Led by Peyton Siva’s 15 points and freshman Gorgui Dieng’s double double of 13 points and 12 rebounds, Louisville beat UConn 71-58.  The AP reports:
The Cardinals (20-7, 9-5 Big East) bounced back from a loss at Cincinnati on Wednesday by harassing UConn [...]
