It’s like a little something for the entire family…sort of.  The always trendy Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas teaming up with the maturing, yet still female attention grabbing, Usher.  Sprinkle in a middle-aged Slash to capture what is soon to be considered the – though it pains me to write it – classic rock crowd, and you’ve got a mish-mash of performers who seem to cover most of the bases.

It will be interesting to see how these sounds come together.  Usher and the Peas will likely groove pretty well, but Slash adds and interesting component.  He’s the wild-card in this ensemble, though he has played with the Black Eyed Peas in the past.  The AP reports:

Slash has performed Guns ‘N Roses song “Sweet Child o’ Mine” on tour with the Black Eyed Peas; he also collaborated with Black Eyed Peas member Fergie on the song “Beautiful Dangerous” last year.

The NFL announced in November that the Black Eyed Peas would be the featured Super Bowl halftime performer. Past halftime acts have included U2, the Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney.

As long as the stunning Fergie is center stage, this half-time show can’t go wrong.  Usher had better just keep his hands to himself, though.  I doubt Fergie will put up with any “wardrobe malfunctions”.
