It’s that time again. Time to say goodbye to the Madness by looking back on how we got to the NCAA National Championship Game, and celebrating all the highs and lows Luther Vandross style.

So here it is, in all its splendor and glory: “One Shining Moment” 2011. I especially enjoy the healthy dose [...]

When two big dogs collide in the NCAA National Championship Game, like the Butler Bulldogs and Connecticut Huskies did on Monday night, you should have known it would be some intense, ugly, junkyard dog basketball, and it was exactly that in the first half.
The UConn Huskies won the game 53-41 to become the 2011 NCAA [...]

The Kentucky Wildcats couldn’t hit a shot from the field, three, or the free throw line on Saturday night against the Connecticut Huskies, but they still had a chance to win the game with 18 seconds to go.
UK coach John Calipari called a time-out to set up a play. Either it was a horrible play [...]

In case you missed it, the VCU Rams and the Butler Bulldogs just played one of the most exciting games of the 2011 NCAA Tournament.  Unfortunately for the Rams, Butler is heading to the National Championship Game for the second year-in-a-row after finishing strong to beat VCU 70-62

When the history books are written, the 2010-2011 seasons of both football and basketball in the NCAA will likely read like a rogues gallery.  It seems like every other day we find someone is either admitting to or getting caught violating NCAA rules.  This time it’s former Kentucky Wildcats staffer, Bilal Batley.  According to Fox [...]

Fans of the VCU Rams have enjoyed sticking it to ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale the past three weeks as their team has, against all odds, kept winning to advance to the NCAA Final Four.
Vitale, in Dickie V fashion, ranted and raved on Selection Sunday when it was announced that VCU had made the [...]

It looks like MU fans will have something to celebrate today.  Purdue’s Matt Painter is expected to accept Mizzou Athletic Director Mike Alden’s offer to become the next head coach of the Tigers.  According to Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
Nothing is official yet and there haven’t been any announcements, but a source [...]

Things have changed dramatically for VCU coach, Shaka Smart, and his wife Maya since the Rams entered the NCAA Tournament then shocked the world by making it to the Final Four.  The young couple is trying to deal with the new-found fame by keeping things in perspective.  According to CBS:
Shaka Smart had beaten Southern California, [...]

Contrary to earlier reports over the weekend, University of Dayton basketball coach, Brian Gregory, has not been offered a job with Georgia Tech.  He had this to say to the Dayton Daily News:
“Have other schools contacted me about their open head-coaching positions? Yes. But I’m not going to mention or name the schools,” [...]

Check out the scene at a packed Lexington, KY airport as fans await the return of their Final Four – bound Kentucky Wildcats.  The floodlighting and ubiquitous fans make the photo look like a shot of the Second Coming.  But hey, that’s basketball fans for you.
