CNN is reporting that Hideki Irabu, one of the first Japanese pitchers to come over and find success in the Major Leagues, has been found dead.
Former Major League Baseball pitcher Hideki Irabu was found dead yesterday at his Los Angeles home, Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported.
The newspaper’s website quotes police investigators as saying the 42-year-old’s death appears to be a suicide.
Some reports are saying he was found dead from a hanging suicide.
Irabu pitched for the Yankees, Expos, and Rangers over six seasons. He had a record of 34-35 with a 5.15 ERA.
