Former Chiefs Running Back Larry Johnson So Unpopular in KC, Lawyer Wants Change of Venue for Trial
What goes around comes around. It’s an old cliche, but it always rings true. In the case of former Chiefs running back, Larry Johnson, it comes in spades. Johnson’s lawyer is looking for a change of venue regarding Johnson’s upcoming trial. He’s being sued by a Lawrence woman who claims Johnson spit a drink in her face at a bar.
However, the woman’s lawyer argued that the lawyer had not proven that the former star is so unpopular that he couldn’t get a fair trial.
Of course, if Johnson’s lawyer were smart, he’d simply pull a few random people off the street and interview them in front of the judge. Anyone who knows anything about Kansas City Chiefs football over the past decade will tell you that – except for about one season and a half – Larry Johnson was a colossal waste of time on the field. Off the field, he was even worse. He alienated fans, coaches and the general public then whined about how disliked he was.
Johnson’s lawyer is absolutely right. He is so unpopular in KC that he might not get a fair trial. But that’s to be expected when you ignite every bridge you’ve ever crossed, then act like you’re the one who got burned.
