The St. Louis Cardinals traded RF Ryan Ludwick, in a 3-team trade, to the San Diego Padres on Saturday.
The Cardinals in return receive SP Jake Westbrook from the Cleveland Indians and cash, along with minor league pitcher Nick Greenwood from the Padres.
The Indians received AA RHP Corey Kluber from the Padres.
St. Louis was able to part with Ludwick, who has been very productive and a fan favorite for the team, in large part due to the great hitting from young prospects John Jay and Allen Craig.
