Albert Pujols Stars on Letterman: Takes Batting Practice On 53rd Street (Pics)

Albert Pujols Taking Batting Practice - New York Street 53rd - The Late Show with David Letterman

Albert Pujols was a guest this afternoon on The Late Show with David Letterman (it will air later tonight).  Dave had a nice chat with Albert before he asked Pujols to take some batting practice on 53rd Street.

Letterman had taxi’s set up in the distance from where Pujols was hitting, with varying distances (see photo below) on them, to show how far Albert could hit the ball.

Albert seemed relaxed and like he had a good time showing off his hitting skills.

Actor Denis Leary was Albert’s batting practice pitcher.  He plunked Albert at one point during the session.  Leary, a die-hard Red Sox fan was wearing a Red Sox shirt.

Albert gave Leary his red batting gloves after it was over.

Letterman even took a few swings from the lefty side of the plate, and he didn’t look extremely bad in doing so.

The Cardinals are in New York City to start a 3-game set with the Mets starting tomorrow.
