Women’s softball legend Jennie Finch, who raised the sport to new heights while becoming a pin up to many young boys at the same time, has announced that she will be retiring from the sport at the end of August.
She starred collegiately at Arizona while going 119-16 in her four-year career there. She went 32-0 as a junior and at one point won 60 consecutive games.
Finch went on to star for the USA National team and won a gold medal in 2004 and silver in 2008. Her career record with the National team is 36-2.
She is retiring to focus on her family. She is married to Houston Astros pitcher Casey Daigle. They have a 4-year old son Ace.
